Description of the campsite
A walk of about 5.7 km circles Lake Aydat, the largest natural lake in Auvergne at 65 ha, and skirts Camping du Lac d'Aydat. The lake beach is a short walk away, with lifeguards in summer, and the sailing school offers catamarans, dinghies and Optimists. The 3-star campsite is in a forest on the water's edge, in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park, 20 km south-west of Clermont-Ferrand. Its bar-restaurant, Le Trappeur, makes wood-fired pizzas. In the Puy-de-Dôme it rents bungalows and the season runs from April to October.
