Blain is beside the Nantes–Brest canal, the waterway that since the nineteenth century has linked the Atlantic with inland Brittany through rural Loire-Atlantique. Camping du Canal offers bungalows and its own pool beside a restaurant and a terrace overlooking the water, ideal for those travelling the canal by bike or boat. The Château de la Groulais, which overlooks the village from a hill, is worth a visit on foot from the campsite. It is open from 4 April to 4 October, and it is best to book well ahead before planning your getaway to this quiet part of Loire-Atlantique.
