Nort-sur-Erdre looks out over the river Erdre just where it becomes a navigable canal on the way from Nantes to Brest, in a land of locks and wooded banks in the north of Loire-Atlantique, rarely visited by coastal tourism. Camping Port Mulon offers bungalows and glamping tents with takeaway food and a playground, plus pétanque, a swimming pool and tennis, with television in the accommodation, and dogs are allowed throughout the site. It is a peaceful base for canoeing down the canal, river fishing or simply walks beside the water, far from the more touristy Atlantic coast.
