Description of the campsite
Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, at the western end of the Île de Ré, takes its name from the whale strandings recorded on its coast throughout history. Camping Les Pérouses du Phare has a bar, bungalows and a nearby beach, next to the famous Baleines lighthouse that dominates the tip of the island. The landscape combines dunes, pine woods and salt marshes, with cycling routes that run along the whole west coast of the island.
