Ars-en-Ré sits at the western end of the Île de Ré, with its distinctive black-and-white bell tower that has served as a landmark for sailors since the seventeenth century, in the very heart of the Charente salt marshes. Camping Le Cormoran offers a very complete range next to this island landscape: a gym, jacuzzi and sauna for looking after your body, as well as fishing, a pool and a restaurant where you can try the local oyster. The playground entertains the little ones, while the pétanque courts fill quiet afternoons. The on-site supermarket saves unnecessary trips on this island of bicycles and salt pans, and the bar in the barbecue area brightens island evenings. The nearby beach rounds off any day of rest.
