Grayan-et-l'Hôpital occupies the northernmost stretch of the Médoc coast, near Soulac-sur-Mer and the Pointe de la Négade, where the pine-forest dunes fall straight onto open, windy Atlantic beaches. Camping des Familles, a simple campsite, has a bar, billiards, takeaway food, glamping, a jacuzzi, playground, pool, restaurant and sauna, spa and wifi, with the beach a short walk away through the pinewoods. It is a family base for surfing, walks along the Médoc dunes or a visit to the Cordouan lighthouse, visible from the coast on clear days.
