Grayan-et-l'Hôpital stretches between the pine forests and dunes of the Médoc, very close to the Pointe de Grave where the Gironde estuary finally merges with the ocean opposite Royan. Camping Les Franquettes offers bungalows, a bar and a takeaway food service beside its own pool, in a quiet setting away from the big resorts of the neighbouring coast. Dogs are allowed and the nearby beach rounds off the day in peace. The lighthouses and the bird reserve of the Médoc invite walks in the surrounding area. It is best to book your pitch somewhat in advance and to check the opening dates with the campsite.
