Description of the campsite
Hendaye closes off the French Basque coast right where the Bidasoa river flows out opposite Hondarribia, with a wide beach that stretches to the Spanish border. Camping Alturan makes the most of this privileged position, a short step from the sea. It is a simple campsite, without big extras, focused on the essentials: a nearby beach, a good Atlantic climate and the chance to cross on foot to the old town of Hondarribia in a few minutes. The French Basque setting, with its red and green half-timbered houses, completes the appeal of a coastal stay. It is best to ask the campsite directly for the current season dates.
