Description of the campsite
Pouzauges rises in the heart of the Vendée bocage (hedged farmland), with the Puy Crapaud keeping watch from a modest height that is nonetheless enough to overlook the landscape of hedges and meadows around the village. Camping Lac de Pouzauges, beside the lake of the same name, has bungalows, a gym, a jacuzzi and a pétanque court for relaxing after hiking along the bocage paths. Dogs are allowed and the lake beach is at the campsite's door for swimming in summer. It is best to book well ahead and to check the opening dates with the campsite before travelling.
