Mimizan combines an inland lake and an extensive belt of dunes and pine woods with open Atlantic surf beaches, in the heart of the Grande Lande of the Landes. Camping La Maiade has a bar, takeaway food and a swimming pool, as well as a pétanque area for quiet afternoons. Dogs are allowed throughout the site, and its own supermarket saves unnecessary trips. The bungalows are a comfortable alternative to a tent, and wifi covers the whole campsite. The beach is a short distance away, both the lake beach and the open ocean.
