The west coast of the Cotentin, between Barneville-Carteret and Coutances, preserves a coastline less frequented than the D-Day landing beaches, with wide dunes and beaches that empty out outside peak season; Saint-Germain-sur-Ay is part of that quiet stretch of the Manche. Camping aux Grands Espaces, true to its name, offers bungalows and glamping, outdoor and indoor swimming pools with a sauna and spa, a tennis court and a pétanque court, a bar, takeaway food and its own supermarket. Dogs are allowed. The beach is close, in a setting of marshes and dunes typical of this part of the Cotentin.
