Description of the campsite

La Chapelle-en-Vercors occupies a high plateau in the very heart of the massif, surrounded by forests and high pastures, near the Combe Laval and its roads cut into the rock that descend towards the Isère valley. Camping Municipal Les Bruyères keeps a simple offer, designed for those drawn by the Vercors massif itself and its hiking and mountain biking routes. The village, rebuilt after being razed during the Resistance in the Second World War, today preserves the memory of those episodes in several nearby monuments. It is a good starting point for exploring the Vercors plateaus, much cooler in summer than the nearby Rhône plain. The campsite operates in season.
