Description of the campsite
Saint-Jean-en-Royans lies at the foot of the Vercors, right where the Combe Laval road begins, one of the most spectacular in the French Alps, literally carved into the rock above the void. Camping Les Bords de Lyonne, beside the river it is named after, has barbecues on the pitches, a playground and pétanque, as well as table tennis, with facilities adapted for people with reduced mobility. It is a good starting point for climbing into the Vercors via the Combe Laval or for exploring the Royans, the agricultural plain between the massif and the Isère valley. The Lyonne river, with its cool, clear water, invites a dip on hot days.
