Description of the campsite
In the Chaîne des Puys, that string of extinct volcanoes that dominates the landscape of the Puy-de-Dôme, the Sioule cuts deep gorges between beech woods before making its way to Orcival, whose Romanesque basilica is one of the most beautiful in Auvergne. Camping de la Haute Sioule, a seasonal campsite, has a bar, bungalows and glamping tents, and good access both to fishing in the river and to the hiking routes that climb towards the nearby puys (volcanic peaks). It is a peaceful base from which to discover Orcival, Lake Chambon and the volcanic waterfalls of the area. As this is a seasonal campsite, please confirm the exact opening dates before organising your trip.
