Description of the campsite
Terraces facing Lake Serre-Ponçon: that is Camping Baie de la Chapelle, a car-free 3-star campsite with panoramic views of the turquoise waters of the lake and the bays of Saint-Michel and Chanteloube. The grounds, laid out in tiers, partly shaded and peaceful, are at the gateway to the Écrins National Park, in the Hautes-Alpes. The days are divided between the pool, the spa, fishing or a trail to a beach that allows dogs on a lead. There are paragliding, climbing, canoeing, mountain biking and visits to Embrun and the Boscodon abbey, and in the Chorges marshes protected birds can be seen. There are bungalows and glamping, and the campsite holds the Accueil Vélo label. It is best to check the opening dates with the campsite.
