Description of the campsite
Camping am Leuchtturm, in Drochtersen, is on the river island of Krautsand, on the Elbe, with its own bathing lake, an Elbe beach and views of the lighthouse. It is in Lower Saxony, beside the dike, where you can watch the ship traffic heading to Hamburg, and borders one of the largest bird protection areas in Europe. It has about 450 plots, large meadows for tents and groups, and wooden cabins and mobile homes for rent. The lake is for swimming, sailing miniature boats and walking, also with dogs. About 200 m away there is a sand beach for dogs several kilometres long. There is a playground and bread rolls are delivered to your door every morning. It is open from late March to early October and also at the end of the year.
