Glamping

Enjoy a unique luxury camping experience in our fully equipped glamping tents. Each tent has double beds with comfortable bedding, electricity, indoor and outdoor lighting, and all the comforts needed to enjoy nature without giving up comfort. They include an outdoor picnic table, a cool box and a full set of kitchenware. A different and special way to connect with the natural surroundings of Somo, just 1.5 km from the beach.

Without a doubt, one of the great tourist activities in Cantabria is its spectacular beaches, and in this respect the beaches of the municipality of Ribamontán al Mar are among the best in our region. The fine-sand beaches, whose shore meets the waters of the Cantabrian Sea, make Somo a place of natural charm.

Miles-long beaches such as El Puntal or Las Quebrantas make visitors want to take part in a host of outdoor activities, or offer the chance of a long walk in the midst of nature.

The small village of Langre is also an earthly paradise, where its sturdy, steep cliffs shelter two beaches, La Pequeña and La Grande.

Another of the main tourist activities in Cantabria, and more specifically in Somo, is surfing, one of the sports that most characterises our municipality, as it is currently the first Surf Reserve in Spain, a fact that recognises the exceptional character of its coastal breaks and their unique value as a natural, sporting, socioeconomic and cultural heritage and resource.

The Reserve extends across the localities of Somo, Loredo, Langre and Galizano, with the big waves of the Isla de Santa Marina standing out in particular. Our municipality became the epicentre of this sport, which is accessible and suitable for all audiences.

Cycling and skateboarding fans have an incomparable setting to practise their favourite sport. A coastal path runs along the cliffs of Loredo, Langre and Galizano, and the sea is never out of sight along the route. A pleasant bike ride through meadows, cliffs and beaches.

Aimed at the most modern and daring, a 600-square-metre skate park has been built in Somo. The park mixes dynamic, precise lines that provide obstacles suitable for all kinds of skaters, from beginners to experts.

In the municipality there are numerous ecological routes designed to get to know the local flora and fauna. For this purpose, farm tracks have been adapted to allow long walks on foot, by bike or on horseback. The routes cover everything from cliffs and hills to meadows and beaches.

The El Soplao Cave is considered one of the great wonders of geology, and a mining train runs through its inner passages. We must not forget the Altamira Caves in Santillana del Mar, although at present only their replica, the Neocave, can be visited.

The Cabárceno Nature Park is a spectacular paradise of fauna and flora of more than 750 hectares, which is home, in semi-freedom, to more than 500 animals representing all the zoological communities of the Earth.

On the other hand, visiting Cantabria makes no sense without a stroll through the streets of the centre of Santander, the capital of the autonomous community. It is a welcoming, quiet coastal city with a wide bay facing south. One of its most representative buildings is the Palacio de la Magdalena.
