Description of the campsite
Parque de Campismo da Senhora dos Verdes is in the village of Cativelos, in the municipality of Gouveia (Guarda, Portugal), within the Monte Aljão. The site is part of the Parque Senhora dos Verdes, owned since 1880 by the ABPG —Associação de Beneficência Popular de Gouveia—, which has 22 landscaped, fenced hectares, plus another 120 hectares of natural land wooded with pine and other native species. The park has several kilometres of trails for outdoor activities and adventure sports, run by the company VivaVentura. On site there is also a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Verdes (Nossa Senhora dos Verdes), the setting of an annual pilgrimage festival every June.
