La Bréole looks out over the Ubaye valley, an Alpine tributary of the Durance that runs down from Barcelonnette to the great artificial lake of Serre-Ponçon, one of the largest reservoirs in western Europe, surrounded by mountains. Camping La Pierre de l'Aigle, a seasonal campsite, has a bar, bungalows, takeaway food, pétanque, a swimming pool and a restaurant, and pets are allowed, in an Alpine setting from which you can go sailing or swimming in Serre-Ponçon itself. Barcelonnette, with its curious Mexican architecture brought by former emigrants, is a short distance away. This is a seasonal campsite, so it is advisable to confirm the exact opening dates before booking.
