Description of the campsite
Heading north from Argelès-sur-Mer towards the Salanque, there are dunes and areas less built-up than the town's tourist centre, with the Albères massif always present in the background towards the Catalan border. Camping Les Pingouins, a seasonal campsite, has a bar, a pool, a restaurant and television, accepts pets and is a short distance from the beach between dune ridges. It is a comfortable base for alternating the lively atmosphere of central Argelès with quieter stretches of coast towards Le Racou or Collioure, a short way to the south. It is best to check the season's opening dates with the campsite itself before travelling.
