Description of the campsite
Rivière-sur-Tarn lies in the very heart of the Gorges du Tarn, the great limestone canyon that separates the causses (limestone plateaus) of Sauveterre and Larzac, not far from the Millau Viaduct. Camping Le Pont has bungalows, a pool, a nearby beach and hiking trails, in a setting of cliffs and turquoise waters typical of the canyon. The river can be paddled by canoe between vertical walls several hundred metres high, one of the most spectacular river routes in France. It opens seasonally; confirming the exact dates of this season well in advance is the most sensible thing to do.
