Goudargues overlooks the river Cèze in the very heart of the Gard, a golden-stone village nicknamed the little Venice of the Gard for the canals that run through its old town on the way to the nearby gorges. Camping La Grenouille is set by this watercourse, offering a quiet setting from which to explore the river's natural pools and the stone villages of the Cévennes area, such as nearby Uzès. It is a simple campsite, without great additional facilities, that focuses on closeness to the water and the calm of this corner of the Gard, little visited compared with the gorges of the neighbouring Ardèche.
