Léon looks out over a large inland lake, the Étang de Léon, linked to the Atlantic by the Courant d'Huchet, a nature reserve that is explored in a traditional flat-bottomed boat among pine woods and almost tropical vegetation. Camping Lou Puntaou offers a very complete range of facilities: air conditioning, a bar, barbecue areas, bungalows, takeaway food, glamping, a playground, fishing, pétanque, indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant, a spa, a supermarket, television and wifi, and pets are accepted, with the Atlantic beach a short distance away. It is a very complete base for swimming in the lake, sailing along the Courant or surfing on the nearby coast. As it is a seasonal campsite, it is advisable to confirm the exact opening dates before planning the stay.
