Saint-Denis-d'Oléron, at the northern tip of the Île d'Oléron, is home to the Chassiron lighthouse, with its white and black stripes, and to small oyster-farming harbours where the boats unload every morning beside the salt marshes. Camping Les Seulieres, a simple campsite, offers fishing, a pool, television and a nearby beach among low dunes. It is a quiet base for cycling around the island, visiting the Chassiron lighthouse and its rock garden, or tasting oysters straight from the neighbouring harbours of Boyardville or La Cotinière. Before travelling, it is advisable to check the season's opening dates directly with the campsite.
