Porto-Vecchio, in the south of Corsica, combines a Genoese citadel of steep streets with some of the most photographed beaches on the island, with white sand and pines that reach almost to the water. Camping Arutoli offers bungalows, a pool, a restaurant and hiking trails, and is close to the beach. The Mediterranean maquis, with its scent of myrtle and rockrose, covers the hills around the bay, while the old port keeps its traditional fishing atmosphere. Nobody has been able to confirm the calendar of this campsite; asking directly before planning the visit seems the most prudent.
