Plougastel-Daoulas occupies a peninsula between the Brest and Daoulas estuaries, famous for its strawberry growing and for a sixteenth-century calvary considered one of the most notable in Brittany. Camping Saint-Jean has a bar, bungalows, a fishing area, an outdoor pool, an indoor pool and hiking trails, and is close to the beach. The coastal paths that skirt the peninsula offer views over the Brest roadstead, one of the largest in Europe. This campsite's calendar remains unconfirmed; asking directly, before travelling, is the wisest course.
