Description of the campsite
At 900 m altitude, on the western slope of the Sancy massif, Camping La Vallée covers three wooded hectares inside the Auvergne Volcanoes Park. It has 60 pitches, 23 of them large, of about 100 m²; for something different there is a tent on stilts for a maximum of 2 people, with no heating or sanitary facilities. The River Burande, first-category water for fishing, runs beside the campsite; 600 m away there is a lake with supervised bathing in summer and, a kilometre away, the village shops. The Puy de Sancy, for a day hike, is 30 minutes away, and La Bourboule and Mont-Dore, with their thermal baths, are recommended visits. It is in La Tour-d'Auvergne, in the Puy-de-Dôme, and is open from early May to mid-September.
