Thonon-les-Bains looks out over Lake Geneva from the French shore, with a busy harbour and a funicular that climbs up to the old town above the water. Camping Saint Disdille has bungalows, a fishing area, hiking, television and wifi, and is close to the lake beach. The waters of Lake Geneva, very cold even in summer, lend themselves to sailing and boat trips towards Évian or towards the Swiss shore, visible on the other side of the lake.
