Description of the campsite
Thonon-les-Bains looks out over Lake Geneva from the French shore, with the Dranse river flowing out near the town and the Chablais Alps rising right behind it, a balance between historic spa town and mountain gateway. Camping La Dranse offers bungalows and a very full range of facilities: a children's playground, pétanque and a fishing area, with a bar and takeaway food, plus television in the accommodation, and dogs are allowed throughout the site. Hiking trails lead straight up into the Chablais. It is a convenient base for combining Geneva, the lake and the Savoie mountains. The season is running as normal, although before travelling it is worth checking the exact dates with the campsite.
