Description of the campsite
Sainte-Hélène-du-Lac sits in the Isère valley, between Chambéry and the foothills of the Savoie Alps, an agricultural area of orchards and vineyards that is a natural passage to the great neighbouring mountain valleys. Camping L'Escale has bungalows, a bar and barbecues, with takeaway food, a playground and a pool for the summer, as well as wifi, and dogs are allowed throughout the site. There is also a small supermarket so you don't have to rely on the village. It is a practical base for exploring Chambéry, Lake Aiguebelette or the first mountain routes of Alpine Savoie. The surroundings combine fertile plain and wooded hills typical of the Isère valley. The season runs as normal; even so, it is best to reconfirm the exact opening dates with the campsite.
