Description of the campsite
A river, volcanoes and a Romanesque church: Camping de la Bageasse, in Vieille-Brioude, combines human-scale living with plenty to explore. It has 79 pitches on 2.5 hectares, an outdoor pool and paddling pool from June to September, a canoe-kayak base and a shuttle for rafting. The ecolodges on stilts overlook the valley. In July and August there is a supervised river beach and a kids' club for children aged 4 to 12. Nearby are 36 volcanic sites, the Gorges de l'Allier and the basilica of Saint-Julien, in the Haute-Loire. It is open from March to late October.
