Description of the campsite
Campingplatz Hirtenteich, in Essingen-Lauterburg (Baden-Württemberg), covers 5 hectares on a plateau in the GEO-Park Schwäbische Alb, at the edge of beech forests. It has a pool and sauna, a restaurant with a terrace, a playground, a barbecue area and free Wi-Fi. For sleeping there are three sleeping barrels and fixed pitches for motorhomes. The Albsteig passes very close, and there is a mountain bike area and ski lifts and cross-country trails nearby. Lauterburg is the highest village in the Ostalbkreis, at 680 m. The campsite is open from March to November.
