Some sleep in a tent by the water and some prefer a wooden chalet: both fit at Camping Huttopia La Clarée, 8 hectares with 201 touring pitches at the gateway to the Écrins. The preserved valley offers summits in view and days of hiking, mountain biking and fishing, with a visit to Briançon, 7 km away. The heated pool and the Café-Comptoir provide the counterpoint after the route. It is in Val-des-Prés, in the Hautes-Alpes, beside the Clarée, and is open from mid-May to almost the end of September.
