Description of the campsite
Domaine des Marmottes is in Val d'Oronaye, in the département of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the upper Ubaye valley, in the mountains and close to a nature park, right on the Italian border. It is a seasonal campsite with accommodation in bungalows, as well as fishing and rafting or canoeing, and it offers hiking. It has adaptations for people with reduced mobility. Its high-mountain setting, among peaks, lakes and the hills of the Ubaye valley, invites long treks and discovering the border passes and the military and pastoral tradition of the region. It is a practical base for families and mountaineers exploring the southern Alps in the height of the summer season, far from intensive tourism.
