Sisteron rises over a narrowing of the Durance valley, with the citadel and the Rocher de la Baume watching over the passage between the Alps and Provence, a historic crossing point. Camping Les Prés Hauts has bungalows, a pool to cool off in after walks, and a restaurant along with a small supermarket so you don't have to rely on the centre of Sisteron. Fishing in the Durance attracts anglers, and hiking lets you climb towards the mountains of Haute-Provence or follow the paths along the river. Provençal light and an already Alpine air blend at this point of transition. The campsite operates in season; it is best to confirm the exact dates before booking.
