Camping Club Les Tamaris is in Le Barcarès, on the Mediterranean coast of the Pyrénées-Orientales, a town that owes much of its fame to the Lydia, the former ocean liner stranded on the sand that now serves as a nightclub and a symbol of the place. The Gulf of Lion opens out here into long, flat beaches, very different from the rocky coast that begins further south towards Collioure. The campsite has a very complete range of facilities: a bar, barbecues, billiards, takeaway food, a gym, a jacuzzi, a playground, a pool, a restaurant, a sauna, a spa, tennis courts and wifi, and dogs are allowed. It is open for the full season, although it is advisable to confirm the exact dates when booking.
