Description of the campsite
Sommières spreads its medieval centre on both sides of the Vidourle, with a twenty-arch Roman bridge connecting the two banks, in an area of vineyards and garrigue scrubland between Nîmes and Montpellier. Camping Le Garanel has a fishing area beside the river, with a pool and its own supermarket, and wifi throughout the site. Dogs are allowed. It is a convenient base for exploring the old town of Sommières, its Provençal markets and the area's vineyards without giving up the comforts of a well-equipped campsite. The season is following its usual course, although it is worth checking the exact dates in advance.
