Argences-en-Aubrac brings together several hamlets on the volcanic Aubrac plateau, that expanse of high pastures through which the Way of St James route running down from Le Puy passes and where transhumance is still practised every spring. Camping Le Clos de Banes offers here a bar, bungalows, a pool and direct access to the hiking routes that cross the plateau among burons (stone shepherds' huts) and springs of the Bès. It is a discreet starting point for walking towards Aubrac or Nasbinals, or simply for enjoying the silence of this plateau at over a thousand metres of altitude.
