Arcachon Bay (Bassin d'Arcachon) opens up next to La Teste-de-Buch, with the Dune du Pilat, the largest dune in Europe, rising a short distance from the village and traditional oyster farms scattered along the shore of the estuary. Camping Les Bonnes Vacances offers barbecues, with a swimming pool for the summer and a place to rest after climbing the dune or strolling around the nearby oyster harbours. There is wifi throughout the site and the beach is a short distance away. It is a comfortable base for combining Arcachon Bay, the open ocean and the pine forests of the Landes without moving around too much.
