Between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Bidart hangs its cliffs over the French Basque Atlantic, with coves reached by steep access and a small historic centre that looks out to sea from above. Camping Le Pavillon Royal makes the most of this privileged position with bungalows, a pool and a gym, as well as pétanque for long afternoons after lunch, with the beach a short distance away for surfing or simply sunbathing. It is a comfortable starting point for touring the Basque Coast, from Biarritz to Hendaye, without giving up the quiet village atmosphere that Bidart keeps far from the bustle of the larger neighbouring towns. The campsite is open all season, although it is best to confirm the exact opening dates beforehand.
