Unlike the coastal campsites, Camping La Mouette Rieuse is in Courçon, in the interior of Charente-Maritime, without the beach as an immediate draw. It offers a pool, a pétanque area, ping pong and a playground, plus a bar and a space for barbecues. The site has wifi and television, and bungalow accommodation complements the camping pitches. Its name, “the laughing gull”, evokes the coast although the campsite is inland, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It operates seasonally, with activity concentrated in the months of greatest tourist demand in this part of France.
