Le Mung lies beside the river Charente, near Saint-Savinien, on a calm stretch of river where the water winds between willows and small landing stages, far from the bustle of the nearby Atlantic coast. Camping L'Île aux Loisirs keeps a deliberately simple offer, centred on the river itself as the main attraction: walks along the bank, amateur fishing and the tranquillity of a river landscape little visited by mass tourism. Saint-Savinien, with its old town and its old bridge, is a short walk away and well worth a visit.
