Description of the campsite
Saint-Valery-sur-Somme keeps its medieval walls above the Somme Bay, from where William the Conqueror set sail for England in the eleventh century, today a quiet village of cobbled streets and views over the estuary. Camping Le Village de la Sablière offers a bar, bungalows and a gym, with an outdoor and an indoor pool, a restaurant and tennis, as well as hiking trails around the bay and its marshes. Dogs are allowed throughout the site and there is wifi for the whole stay. It is a comfortable family base for birdwatching, walking along the medieval walls and discovering the little tourist train that runs around the Somme estuary. It stays active throughout the season, although it is best to reconfirm the exact dates before the trip.
