Camping Municipal de l'Île d'Or is in Amboise, in the Indre-et-Loire department of the Centre-Val de Loire region, beside a river, right in the royal castle town and Clos-Lucé, at the gateway to the Loire châteaux country. It is a seasonal municipal campsite with tennis, a restaurant, a bar and bungalow accommodation, as well as fishing, table tennis and a sports field, and it offers a bakery, laundry, chemical toilet disposal, a motorhome service point and hiking. It has adaptations for people with reduced mobility. Its riverside and heritage setting invites walks along the banks of the Loire and a visit to the Château d'Amboise.
