Camping Gaston Marchand, the municipal campsite of Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle, is in the Loiret department of the Centre-Val de Loire region, beside a river, on the outskirts of Orléans, right at the gateway to the Sologne and the Loire valley. It is a seasonal municipal campsite, simple, with shaded pitches. It accepts dogs and offers hiking and canoeing or rafting. Its riverside, rural surroundings invite walks along the banks of the Loire, canoeing and exploring Orléans, its old town and its cathedral, as well as the villages and forests of the Sologne.
