Description of the campsite
Carnac is synonymous with megaliths: thousands of menhirs aligned for more than five thousand years cover the moorland between the village and the Atlantic coast of the Morbihan, a landscape unique in all of Europe. Camping Les Ombrages offers simple bungalows for relaxing, a short step from the beach where the route of the prehistoric alignments ends. It is a quiet base for combining archaeology and swimming, away from the more touristy atmosphere of the Breton coast in summer, with Quiberon and its peninsula a short distance away by road. The surroundings mix low dunes, pine woods and fine sand coves typical of southern Brittany. Before booking, it is advisable to check the specific opening dates of the season with the campsite.
