Description of the campsite
Puy-Guillaume sits beside the Dore river, on the edge between the Limagne plain and the first foothills of the Livradois-Forez, near Thiers, the historic home of French cutlery. The Camping de la Dore keeps a simple offering, centred on the river itself as the main draw: walks along the bank, amateur fishing and the peace of a small industrial town far from the tourist routes of Auvergne. It is a good starting point for visiting Thiers and its craftsmen's workshops, as well as the forests of the Livradois-Forez a little further east. The landscape combines the farmland plain of the Limagne with the first wooded hills of the region.
